The guitar stands out the most to me. In this photograph i can almost hear the music. I can almost hear the bumping of the amp. It makes me want to pick up a guitar and start playing, if only i could read music.
There is a man in the center of the picture holding a black guitar. He is playing and seems very in-tune with his surroundings and seems to be a very good player. He is wearing a blue hat, gray t-shirt, and blue jeans. He is in a room with tan colored walls with an amplifier behind him.
The line quality seems very sharp and clear to me. There are not very many bright colors. The one color that does appear to stand out more is an orange bracelet he is wearing. The colors are all very neutral colors and are very easy for the eye to look at.
I believe the photo tells a story. It shows that he can play a guitar and obviously read music, and I am very jealous because I could never get the hang of reading music. There must also be some artistic value in this person and he must be very talented. If there was one word to describe this photograph it would be "musical."
It seems like Honore's drawings were mostly of men. This photo connects with that because There is a man in the picture. It is, however, difficult to see this person's face and in Honore's photographs you can see the men's faces.

The First reaction to this photograph was that it is a silly picture of my boyfriend, and how boys will be boys. It is also in a typical, boring, old, Kansas field Then as I look closer at this picture there is a cloud of smoke from the bullet hitting the clay pigeon. How extremely rare this is to be able to catch this particular moment in time? It makes me actually feel like time has come to a halt.
In the lower left corner, there is man wearing a black beanie and a "carhart" coat holding a shot gun. He is standing in an open field with leaf-less trees in the background and the sky is overcast. In the distance there is a puff of smoke, just above the tree line, from a clay pigeon that has been blown into millions of tiny fragments. It seems like a typical fall day because there is no snow, but there is a little bit of green vegetation in the field.
The color is very dark and dreary. Brown and gray seem to take over the picture and give the viewer a sense of a cold fall day. There are not many straight lines in the photograph, even the horizon is a little crazy because the trees are lining the background. I believe the eye is drawn to the man because the black beanie stand out along with his coat.
The photo does tell a story. It is interesting and if I did not know him I would think of him as a hunter who is practicing for hunting or perhaps is teaching his son how to hold and shoot a shotgun properly. He is obviously strong because a shotgun has a lot of kick to it after being shot. One noun that describes this photo is "redneck."
I believe that this photograph compares to Katie's artwork in the sense that it is a darker photograph because of the color situation. Otherwise Katie's artwork seem to be very grief-stricken. The objects in her art seem to be mourning over death or war. Her artwork is very ominous. There are not a lot of similarities in my photograph and Katie's artwork.
