The First thing I notice about this photograph is the sun shining through a seemingly gray and cloudy day. There is not anything going on in this picture but the clouds and sun make it interesting. It makes me think of the 'heavens' and gives a warm feeling for me. It also makes me think that it could start raining at any moment.
In the lower half of the picture there are only three trees which lay on a flat landscape that is probably a field. The sky is very overcast. There are places of dark gray, but there is sun shinning through various places. Rays of sun are streaming down to the earth and they give the allusion that the heavens are breaking up.
The rays of sun make the eye lead to the ground and trees. There is no object in the picture but the sky itself. If you look closely there are some power lines running through the center of the picture, but the line does not lead your eyes in the wrong direction. They don't seem to affect the picture at all. The lightness of the sky and the darkness of the earth reminds me of heaven and hell. The darkness between the horizon and the sky is very clear where is starts and ends.
The photo does tell a story. As I said before it reminds me of hell on earth, or so some people call it that. The rays coming from the sky is a heaven, in some people's minds. If i were to describe this photo it would be "beautiful."
The black and white in the sky matches Durer's paintings in the fact that they are also black and white. Although they are extremely different in the fact that he drew imaginary creatures in his drawings. There are none of those in this picture, obviously. His pictures are very emotional but mine, however, is not.
